Information Report for children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND)

OUR ETHOS

Our School is inclusive and aims to meet the needs of every pupil. We recognise the importance of quality teaching and that some pupils will, at some stage, require a more personalised approach to enable them to meet their potential.  We want our school to be a safe, secure and happy environment where children feel valued and are able to access a balanced, relevant and stimulating curriculum. We place the child at the centre of everything we do. We listen to their views and work closely with parents and carers. We value our relationships with other local schools and we work together to provide the best possible outcomes for the children and young people in that partnership.  We work within the requirements of the latest SEN Code of Practice.

THE PURPOSE OF OUR INFORMATION REPORT

The purpose of our school SEN report is to inform parents and carers about:

  • how we welcome into our school children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND)
  • how we support them in all aspects of school life and remove barriers to achievement
  • how we work in close partnership with parents/carers and children
  • how we make effective provision for all of our children with SEND

We will keep our school offer under review by asking parents and children what is working well and what they want to improve. The next review date for our SCHOOL SEND report is September 2023.

WHO TO CONTACT FOR MORE INFORMATION

The first person to contact if you have any concerns about your child is your child’s class teacher. They are best placed to answer your queries and are will always make themselves available to meeting with you at a mutually convenient time. They are often free for a quick chat after school. You can also contact our SENDCO, Miss Bradford who has overall whole school responsibility for SEND and inclusion. You can make an appointment to see her through the school office.
