The school values the links that it has developed with the community and continues to explore avenues to foster these further. To support this process the school improvement plan has identified a working party of staff to evaluate this and make recommendation.
We continue to work closely with our partner primary schools and secondary schools (Alderman Blaxill and Philip Morant).
Future projects include:
-
Joint staff training
-
Governor liaison meetings
-
International school improvement programme
-
Inter school sports
Sporting links with the major sports clubs in Colchester are well established and are set to continue. These include:
-
Colchester United FC - football in the community
-
Colchester and East Essex Cricket Club - kwik cricket programme and school coaching
-
The Ormiston Centre - netball and kwik cricket
Annual visits are made to our partner playgroups by Foundation class teachers to support a sensitive induction of our new pupils in to the school.
Through our harvest festival donations of food we were able to support senior residents in our immediate community.
We are always seeking to promote links with the wider business community.
The Head Teacher and members of the Pastoral team welcome parents in for coffee and an informal chat on a regular basis.
The School Council lead termly charity events and staff and parents participate in the Macmillan coffee morning every September.
