Chair - Mr Phil McCusker - Local Authority Governor
I have been a member of the Governing Body for four years and have just been elected as Chair. I’ve taken a keen interest in the school since my children started. I have two daughters, Maisie in year 5, and Alice in Reception. I’ve been involved with the PTA, often seen at events at the end of a microphone or trying to prove (to myself), at the annual family bbq, that I can still play football! The Governing Body has a serious job to do to ensure all children have a positive experience while they are with us and are well prepared for their future learning. I’m keen that the Governing Body continues to make informed decisions, listening to the views of children, parents and staff and also observing how the policies we agree work in practice in the classroom.

I have been a member of the Governing Body for nearly 2 years and am currently the Vice-chair. I have a daughter, Bridget in year 2 at Gosbecks and have been very pleased with the school and her progress. I see my role within the Governing Body as being to ensure that the school continues to provide a safe and caring environment in which the children can learn and flourish. I would thoroughly recommend being a Governor to anyone as it is both enjoyable and rewarding.
